Week 2 Regional Rankings Released

Montclair, NJ – After the second round of the NCAA Regional Rankings were announced Wednesday, Montclair State saw three teams placed in the Region IV Rankings.

The No. 5/7 men's soccer team claimed the top spot in the region, with fellow NJAC schools Rowan University (No. 3), Rutgers-Newark (No. 5), and Kean University (No. 6) were also ranked. NYU, who handed Montclair State their lone setback of the year, were ranked No. 2.

Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom schools Stevens (No. 4) and Misericordia (No. 7) completed Region IV rankings. RPI, Washington College, and Alvernia University, which Montclair State topped this season, were ranked in their specific region.

The women's soccer team slots in at the No. 3 in Region IV, behind Misericordia and The College of New Jersey.  NYU, Stevens, Rowan, and DeSales rounded out the rankings. In other regions, Vassar was ranked No. 4 in Region III as the only other team the Red Hawks have faced that are listed

The Montclair State volleyball team slides in at No. 4 in their rankings. Ahead of them are NYU, Stevens, and Rowan, who have topped the Red Hawks this season. Stockton, Kean, and Rutgers-Camden were selected behind MSU. SUNY Cortland was No. 2 in Region III, while Messiah was No. 7 in Region V.

The men's soccer and women's volleyball teams have secured byes into the Semifinals of the NJAC Tournament next week, while women's soccer looks to clinch one tonight against Rutgers-Newark.
