Four From Men’s Soccer Selected to CSC Academic All-District Team

Montclair, NJ – Announced on Tuesday afternoon by the College Sports Communicators (CSC), four student-athletes of the Montclair State University men's soccer team were selected to the CSC Academic All-District Team for the fall season.

The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's Soccer teams, selected by CSC, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined excellence on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately honors men's soccer standouts across four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.

To qualify for CSC Academic All-District distinction, a student-athlete must have appeared in 90% of games or started at least 66% of them, while also maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Representing Montclair State men's soccer this year are SEBASTIAN LAPCZYNSKI, KENET LOPEZ, LOGAN NENO, and JACKSON PERATA.

Lapczynski, a business analytics major with a 3.7 GPA, started all 19 matches this season. A First Team All-NJAC selection, he ranked second on the team with 1,490 minutes played. His five goals were the most by a Montclair defender since IAN CHESNEY in 2022, and he finished a perfect 5-for-5 on penalty kicks as the Red Hawks' primary taker. Defensively, he helped anchor a unit that posted nine shutouts, logging 752 of a possible 810 minutes during those matches.

Lopez started all 18 of his appearances in the midfield and holds a 3.82 GPA as an accounting major. He tallied three goals and two assists across 1,216 minutes, ranking fourth on the team in minutes played. Lopez scored the game-winning goal against Worcester Polytechnic Institute on September 13 and added a goal and an assist during an October 11 victory over Rutgers–Newark.

Neno, a sports communication major carrying a 3.55 GPA, started 10 of his 18 appearances. He played 767 minutes while contributing three goals and an assist for seven points. Neno delivered the game-winning goal against DeSales on October 8 and scored twice in NJAC play against William Paterson and Ramapo.

Perata, a business administration major with a 3.5 GPA, started all 19 matches on the backline. He led the Red Hawks in minutes with 1,585 and was a key piece of a defense that held opponents to 1.05 goals per game, the fifth-best mark in the NJAC. He also added an assist during a road victory at Ramapo.

All four student-athletes earn CSC Academic All-District honors for the first time in their collegiate careers.

Montclair State concluded the season with a 12-2-5 overall record and a 5-1-3 mark in NJAC play, capturing the NJAC Regular-Season Championship. The Red Hawks were also featured in the United Soccer Coaches Division III National Poll eight times throughout the year.
