Montclair, NJ – Junior
JOSIAH CRAWFORD and freshman
AMER LUKOVIC of the No. 15 Montclair State men's soccer team were honored by the New Jersey Athletic Conference Monday.
Crawford earns NJAC Player of the Week honors for the first time, while Lukovic earns his second NJAC Rookie of the Week accolade.
The junior scored twice in the team's 3-0 victory over Kean University Wednesday evening. He opened the scoring 1:33 into the second half before adding his second 1:26 later. On the second goal, he intercepted a poor clearing attempt and fired a shot from just inside the 18-yard box to give MSU the 2-0 lead. In the two games last week, Crawford took six shots.
Lukovic recorded his third two-goal game of the season in a 3-0 victory over TCNJ. The rookie cleaned up a loose ball in the box for his first tally before converting his second penalty kick goal of the season late in the game. He tallied eight shots over two games, putting four on frame.
The Red Hawks return to the pitch Saturday as they host Stockton University at 7 pm at MSU Soccer Park.
