Montclair, NJ – Sophomore defender TARA LAMBERT of the Montclair State women's soccer team was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week Monday.

Lambert, who collected her second Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season, scored one of the biggest goals of the year for the Red Hawks. Needing a win against Rutgers-Newark last Wednesday to clinch the No. 2 seed in the NJAC Tournament, Lambert struck a free-kick from just outside the 18-yard box on the right side in the 60th minute. The shot eluded everyone and went into the back of the net, giving Montclair the No. 2 seed.

The Red Hawks will host No. 3 seed Rowan University at MSU Soccer Park tomorrow at 7 pm.
