Men's Soccer: Gameday Preview vs. Rutgers-Camden

Montclair, NJ – The No. 10/10 Montclair State men's soccer team hosts Rutgers-Camden in New Jersey Athletic Conference action Saturday.

NJAC REGULAR SEASON CHAMPS
The Red Hawks (12-1-3, 7-0-0 NJAC) clinched the NJAC Regular Season with a 4-1 win over William Paterson Wednesday. AMER LUKOVIC recorded his first collegiate hat trick, while JANBI KAGHADO added a goal. With the victory, Montclair State earns the No. 1 seed in the NJAC Tournament, which starts October 29.

SCOUTING RUTGERS-CAMDEN
The Scarlet Raptors enter the contest with a 6-7-5 record and a 3-2-2 mark in the NJAC. After dropping two consecutive conference matches, RU-Camden has recorded draws against Rutgers-Newark and Stockton in their last two matchups.
                          
SERIES HISTORY
Montclair is 28-12-6 against Rutgers-Camden and has won seven of the last eight meetings. The previous Scarlet Raptor victory came on September 21, 2019, and they haven't won at Montclair in the regular season since October 13, 2000.
 
LAST MEETING
The Red Hawks picked up a 2-0 triumph on September 18, 2021. GENE CARLO ALTAMIRANO knocked in a free-kick service from IAN CHESNEY in the 30th minute before JOSIAH CRAWFORD polished off the scoring in the 82nd. The game went back and forth in the midfield, as the two sides combined for 14 shots.

The Red Hawks wrap up the NJAC schedule Wednesday as they head to Kean for a 7 pm matchup against the Cougars.
