Men's Soccer: Gameday Preview vs. Rutgers-Camden (NJAC Semifinals)

Montclair, NJ – The top-seeded Montclair State men's soccer team hosts No. 5 Rutgers-Camden in the New Jersey Athletic Conference Semifinals Tuesday.

Game time at MSU Soccer Park is scheduled for 7 pm, with live stats and video available on montclairathletics.com. Video can also be found on the Red Hawk Sports Network YouTube Channel.

Ticket prices are $5 for adults and $2 for students/senior citizens/children. All ticket sales are CASH ONLY.
 
NJAC HISTORY:
This will be the Red Hawks' 20th appearance in the NJAC Tournament, with Montclair posting a 23-9-2 mark. MSU has won eight championships in the tournament era, including four straight from 2006-2009 and three of the last five (2016, 2018, 2019).
 
NJAC REGULAR SEASON CHAMPS
The Red Hawks (14-1-4, 8-0-1 NJAC) clinched the NJAC Regular Season with a 4-1 win over William Paterson last Wednesday. AMER LUKOVIC recorded his first collegiate hat trick, while JANBI KAGHADO added a goal. 

LAST TIME OUT
The Red Hawks knocked off CCNY 5-0 in their regular season finale Monday evening. EVAN CHACON, CHRISTIAN BERNAL, and CHRIS FONTANAZZA scored in the first 10:38 before OUZI GUEYE bagged a brace later in the first half.

SCOUTING RUTGERS-CAMDEN
The Scarlet Raptors enter the contest with a 7-7-5 record and advanced to the semifinals with a penalty kick win over Rutgers-Newark Saturday. Christian McCartney, Liam Craver, Parker Solowey, Tommy Monaghan, and Khari Shepherd converted in PKs, while Sean Boen made nine saves.
 
SERIES HISTORY
Montclair is 28-12-7 against Rutgers-Camden and has won seven of the last nine meetings. The previous Scarlet Raptor victory came on September 21, 2019.
 
LAST MEETING
The Red Hawks and Scarlet Raptors battled to a 0-0 draw on October 22. Montclair State outshot Camden 14-5, but neither side could break through for a goal.
 
UP NEXT
The winner of this matchup faces the winner of No. 2 Ramapo and No. 3 in the NJAC Championship Game Friday.
