Men's Soccer: Gameday Preview vs. Rowan (NJAC Championship)

Montclair, NJ – The top-seeded Montclair State men's soccer team hosts No. 3 Rowan in the New Jersey Athletic Conference Game Friday.

Game time at MSU Soccer Park is scheduled for 7 pm, with live stats and video available on montclairathletics.com. Video can also be found on the Red Hawk Sports Network YouTube Channel.

Ticket prices are $5 for adults and $2 for students/senior citizens/children. All ticket sales are CASH ONLY.
 
NJAC HISTORY:
This will be the Red Hawks' 20th appearance in the NJAC Tournament, with Montclair posting a 24-9-2 mark. MSU has won eight championships in the tournament era, including four straight from 2006-2009 and three of the last five (2016, 2018, 2019).
 
NJAC REGULAR SEASON CHAMPS
The Red Hawks (14-1-4, 8-0-1 NJAC) clinched the NJAC Regular Season with a 4-1 win over William Paterson last Wednesday. AMER LUKOVIC recorded his first collegiate hat trick, while JANBI KAGHADO added a goal. With the victory, Montclair State earns the No. 1 seed in the NJAC Tournament, which starts October 29.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Red Hawks topped Rutgers-Camden 2-1 in the NJAC Semifinals Tuesday evening. AMER LUKOVIC opened the scoring in the 11th minute before Rutgers-Camden equalized with a penalty kick in the 49th minute. Lukovic notched his second goal of the match, which proved to be the game-winner, in the 79th minute. JANBI KAGHADO and CHRIS FONTANAZZA recorded assists on the game-winning tally.

SCOUTING ROWAN
The Profs enter the game with a 10-5-5 record and finished as the No. 3 seed in the NJAC with a 4-2-3 record. They knocked off No. 6 NJCU 1-0 in the Quarterfinals before outlasting No. 2 Ramapo 3-1 in penalty kicks after drawing 1-1 in the Semifinals.
 
LAST MEETING
The Red Hawks downed Rowan 3-0 in their meeting during the regular season on October 8. AMER LUKOVIC opened the scoring in the third minute before JOSIAH CRAWFORD scored twice in a 2:17 span. SHANE KEENAN made four saves to earn the clean sheet.
