NICOLAS CURCIO each picked up weekly honors from the NJAC as the duo were named the Player of the Week and Rookie Pitcher of the Week, respectively on Monday.
The two Red Hawks helped Montclair to a perfect Spring Break trip last week as MSU won all three contests in Myrtle Beach, SC, raising its record to 9-3.
Cosentino bated. 583 with seven hits, including six for extra bases and 13 runs batted in. The first baseman also scored six runs and recorded an on-base percentage of .667 and slugging percentage of 1.417. Cosentino opened up the trip going 3-for-6 with six RBI and tied the single-game record with three doubles in a 17-2 victory versus Bridgewater State. The next day, he was a combined 4-for-6 with a pair of home runs and seven RBI in a doubleheader sweep of Eastern Nazarene College.
Curcio, named for the second time this season, picked up his second victory of the year as he improved to 2-0. The lefty scattered seven hits over the first five innings in Montclair State' win over Bridgewater State. He struck out and walked one. In three appearance this year, Curcio had fanned eight batted in eight total innings while allowing just one earned run.
