Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State softball team visits Kean University to continue New Jersey Athletic Conference action Tuesday afternoon.

SCOUTING THE COUGARS
The Cougars are 15-5 and have won two of their last three games. After falling to TCNJ 5-4 in the NJAC opener Saturday, they rebounded with a 4-3 extra-innings win in game two. Kean tied the game at one in the top of the seventh before Eliza Filus hit a three-run homer in the top of the eighth. The Lions scored twice in the bottom of the frame but couldn't draw any closer.

SERIES HISTORY
The Red Hawks are 79-37 all-time against Kean and have won two straight after falling in 10 of the previous 13 meetings. The Cougars won seven consecutive games in the series from April 25, 2015 – April 8, 2018, before snapping the skid with a 17-9 win in the nightcap of a doubleheader.

LAST MEETING
Last season, Montclair State blanked Kean in a doubleheader, winning 1-0 and 5-0. KAYLA GALLO provided the only scoring in game one, doubling down the left-field line to plate AMBER POWERS in the bottom eighth inning. ALYSSA BOROZAN knocked in two runs with a double in the fourth inning of game two before Gallo finished scoring with a two-run home run in the fifth.
