Women's Soccer: Gameday Preview vs. Alvernia

Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State women's soccer team kicks off their 2022 campaign by facing Alvernia University Thursday.

2021 REWIND
The Red Hawks earned the No. 2 seed in the New Jersey Athletic Conference Tournament last fall but were ousted in the Semifinals by Rowan University 1-0. AILEEN CAHILL was named All-Region by the United Soccer Coaches and the NJAC Offensive Player of the Year.

SCOUTING ALVERNIA
The Golden Wolves went 3-15 last season; notching wins over Clarks Summit, Immaculata, and Goucher. Brynn Bock led the Golden Wolves with 62 saves last year, including 10 against Marywood on September 25.

SERIES HISTORY
This is the first meeting between the two schools, though they were supposed to play last September. That matchup was canceled due to the Hurricane that came through the area in early September.

UP NEXT
The Red Hawks head to Massachusetts for a pair of games over the weekend. Montclair State will face Gordon College on Saturday at 1 pm.
