Muuss Honored as AVCA All-Region 4 Freshman of the Year

Montclair, NJ- Montclair State University Women's Volleyball freshman CAMRYN MUUSS was honored this season as the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Region 4 Freshman of the Year. She adds this to the First Team selection she received along with it as it was announced by the AVCA on Wednesday evening.
 
Muuss, in her first collegiate season, led the conference in total kills (343) and kills per set (3.85), with 126 kills and 4.50 kills per set coming in NJAC play which were both top marks in conference. The 2024 NJAC Rookie of the Year and a First Team selection, she also led the NJAC during conference play with 130.5 total points and 4.66 points per set which were the most of any player in the NJAC since 2021. Camryn was also a four-time NJAC Rookie of the Week during the season and NJAC Player of the Week once.
 
Camryn becomes the fifth student-athlete in program history to receive All-Region honors and the first to earn an All-Region major award.
 
The Red Hawks wrapped up their season with an overall record of 21-8 and a 7-1 NJAC record that earned them the number two seed in the NJAC playoffs. They played against third-seeded Stockton in the NJAC Semifinals and fell short, 3-2 on November 14.
