Montclair, NJ—The College Sports Communicators (CSC) organization announced on Tuesday afternoon that three student-athletes from the Montclair State University Volleyball team were named to the Academic All-District Team.
The 2024 Academic All-District® Volleyball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, honor the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions: NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA. To qualify for the Academic All-District Team, a student-athlete must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher and participate in at least 90% of their team's games or start in at least 66% of games.

Rodman received this honor for the second consecutive year after starting all 29 games at the libero position while maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA as a Psychology and Spanish major. The NJAC Defensive Player of the Week for Week 6 (October 7), Rodman recorded 427 digs and averaged 4.23 digs per set during the season. Her stellar defensive performance included 133 digs and an average of 4.59 digs per set in conference play, both ranking third-best in the NJAC. Additionally, she tallied 45 service aces, ranking eighth in the conference, with her 0.45 service aces per set placing her 10th. Rodman capped off her final season as a Second Team All-NJAC selection.
Curran also earned this accolade for the second straight year. With a 3.64 GPA as a business major, Curran played in 28 matches this season and was named an NJAC Honorable Mention selection. She contributed 86 kills, 25 service aces, 203 digs, and 18 blocks over the season. Curran showcased her versatility with nine double-digit kill efforts and seven double-digit dig performances.
Thomas achieved this honor for the first time after starting all 29 matches this season and maintaining a 3.71 GPA as an accounting major. Thomas led the team in blocks with 71 on the season and also recorded 113 kills, solidifying her presence as a key player at the net.
The Red Hawks concluded their season with an impressive overall record of 21-8 and a 7-1 NJAC record, earning them the number two seed in the NJAC playoffs. They faced third-seeded Stockton in the NJAC Semifinals on November 14 but fell just short, losing 3-2.
