Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State University men's lacrosse team will host Endicott College on Wednesday afternoon.

LAST TIME OUT
The Red Hawks fell to DeSales 20-7 on Saturday, March 16. Montclair fell behind early as DeSales scored two goals in the opening 1:55 of the contest. JOHN CRANK halted the run before the hosts tacked on three more to make it 5-1. RYAN VIERBUCHEN netted an unassisted marker with 3:40 left in the first before DAREN MAYER trimmed the deficit to two with a rebound off a shot that rang off the post. DeSales closed the first with two goals before Vierbuchen scored two of the next three to open the second. The Bulldogs scored the next 12 goals before Montclair tallied two in the fourth, both from Crank.

SCOUTING ENDICOTT
The Gulls enter Wednesday's contest winners of five of their first six contests to begin the 2024 campaign. They opened with two road wins over Keene State and Nazareth before falling in a close battle to #12/13 Union 14-12. Endicott is 3-0 in the month of March, sporting wins over MIT, Springfield, and #6 Bowdoin. The Gulls are looking to build off their 13-5 record during the 2023 season, where they fell in the Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship to Western New England. They were tabbed second in the CCC Preseason Coaches Poll, receiving 57 points and one first place vote.

SERIES HISTORY
Montclair and Endicott will meet for the second straight season and fourth time overall. The Red Hawks took the first clash 17-5 in 1999, with the Gulls winning the last two in 2010 and last season. Both sides have won one game at Sprague Field.

LAST MEETING
Montclair fell to Endicott 16-10 on April 5, 2023. The Gulls opened the first four minutes with two of the first three goals, with Montclair leveling in the final minute of the frame on markers from ETHAN MOUNIER and MIKE MCCREERY. Endicott scored the next four bridging into the second stanza to open a 7-3 advantage. Montclair ended the first half with two goals from Mounier and one from JACK CLEARY, but the Gulls opened the second with seven-straight to build an eight goal advantage. The Red Hawks tallied four of the last six markers of the contest but could not complete the rally.

The Red Hawks will remain home and host Southwestern College on Sunday, March 24. Opening faceoff from Sprague Field is slated for 11:00 AM.
