Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State University men's lacrosse team hosts Southwestern College on Senior Day Sunday morning.

LAST TIME OUT
The Red Hawks fell 18-8 to Endicott on Wednesday, March 20 at Sprague Field. Montclair started the contest strong, as RYAN VIERBUCHEN found ETHAN MOUNIER to break open the scoring four minutes in. Vierbuchen struck three minutes later to double the advantage. After the Gulls cut the margin in half, the two sides held each other scoreless for six minutes before JOHN CRANK made the score 3-1 in the final minute of the stanza. Endicott scored four of the next five goals, and after Mounier leveled the contest with five minutes on the clock, the Gulls answered with the remaining six markers of the half. The visitors outscored the Red Hawks 8-3 in the second half to seal the road victory. BRANDON SHEVINS tallied 18 saves in net, marking the third time this season he recorded 15 or more stops.

SCOUTING SOUTHWESTERN
The Pirates will close out their two-game New Jersey road trip against the Red Hawks on Sunday morning after falling to Kean 24-8 on Friday, March 22. Southwestern fell in their first six contests to begin the campaign and recorded their first victory in 2024 against the University of Massachusetts Boston, 18-17. After falling in their next game to Merchant Marine, they bounced back for another win against Hendrix. The Pirates have yet to win on the road this season, and will travel to Illinois later in the week to continue their road swing. Southwestern posted a 9-9 mark during the 2023 season, falling to Colorado College in the Heartland Collegiate Lacrosse Conference Championship Game. The team is competing independently this season after spending two years in the HCLC.

SERIES HISTORY
Montclair and Southwestern have not met in their history, with Sunday's contest marking the first-ever for the Red Hawks against a Texas opponent.

LAST MEETING
The Red Hawks will take on the Pirates for the first time on Sunday morning at Sprague Field.
