Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State softball team visits Stockton University in their New Jersey Athletic Conference opener on Saturday.

LAST TIME OUT
The Red Hawks (10-8) split a doubleheader against Drew on Tuesday. In game one, they fell 11-0 in five innings before beating the Rangers 5-3 in game two. RILEIGH GLYNN and KAYLA COSENTINO had three hits in game two, and Glynn added three stolen bases. SAGE RIZZI earned the win, throwing a complete game with six strikeouts.

SCOUTING STOCKTON
The Ospreys enter with a 7-7 mark and boast a 6-2 record at home. They had their six-game winning streak snapped in their last game against Manhattanville on Tuesday afternoon. Four of their six victories came from a mercy-rule win.

SERIES HISTORY
The Red Hawks are 61-26 against Stockton all-time, but the Ospreys have won six of the last eight meetings. The Red Hawks' best stretch came from 1994 – 2000, when they picked up 13 consecutive wins.

LAST MEETING
Montclair split a twin-bill with the Ospreys in the season finale on April 27, 2023, last season. They lost 4-2 in the opener, with MARIAH CARRASCO and JULIANA CASILLAS collecting RBI. The Hawks clipped Stockton 2-1 in the second game. Carrasco had an RBI single in the second inning before the Ospreys pulled even in the top of the seventh. Montclair won in the bottom of the ninth as LIZ MULLEN had a sacrifice fly with one out.

The Red Hawks host Rutgers-Newark in their NJAC home opener on Tuesday. The first pitch is scheduled for 3 pm at the MSU Softball Stadium.
