LAST TIME OUT
The Red Hawks raced past FDU-Florham 21-3 on Saturday, March 2 at Sprague Field. Montclair opened the scoring 73 seconds into the contest on a marker from JACKSON SIMONS, and struck for three more to build a four goal advantage. With the score 5-1 going into the second quarter, the Red Hawks rattled off five goals in the opening five minutes to double the lead. They outscored FDU 8-1 in the second half to win their third straight home opener. RYAN VIERBUCHEN finished with a game-high five goals and four assists, with JACK CLEARY and LOUIS AZARA each registering their first collegiate hat tricks.

SCOUTING SCRANTON
The Royals fell to top ranked Salisbury 12-5 to open their 2024 campaign and bounced back with a 13-10 victory over Muhlenberg in their next contest. They have dropped their last three games coming into Wednesday night's clash, including a 14-7 setback against Cortland on Saturday, March 2. Scranton is led by Matthew McAree and Colin Pierce, who were both tabbed Preseason All-Americans by Inside Lacrosse. The Royals were picked second in the Landmark Conference Preseason Coaches Poll after capturing their second conference championship in 2023.

SERIES HISTORY
Scranton holds a slight 8-6 edge in the all-time series, with Montclair holding a 3-2 advantage since the series was renewed in 2018. After the Red Hawks won three straight, the Royals have claimed the last two meetings between the two sides. Three of the last five games have been decided by one goal.

LAST MEETING
Montclair narrowly fell to Scranton 10-9 on February 25, 2023 at Sprague Field. The Red Hawks opened the scoring 17 seconds into the game on a marker from MIKE MCCREERY, and doubled the lead at the 5:10 mark on a goal from JACK CLEARY. After Scranton leveled the contest at the end of the first quarter, the two sides traded goals during the second frame to go into the break even at five. Montclair scored four of the next five goals through the third bridging into the beginning of the fourth, a run capped off by another goal from McCreery to build a 9-6 lead. The Royals scored the final four goals of the game to claim the road victory.
