Preview | Softball vs. William Paterson

Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State softball team hosts William Paterson University in their New Jersey Athletic Conference home finale on Tuesday.

LAST TIME OUT
The Red Hawks swept Stevens by identical 10-2 margins on Sunday. JULIANA CASILLAS and MOLLY COLLIGAN had three RBI as STEPHANIE SERETIS and FAITH COLLIER knocked in two during game one. ALI CAVALLARO tossed four shutout innings while allowing just two hits. Seretis and KAYLA COSENTINO added three RBI in game two as Cosentino went 3-for-4 with two doubles.

SCOUTING WILLIAM PATERSON
The Pioneers are 5-23 on the year and 3-11 within the NJAC. They dropped their first 18 games of the season but have gone 5-5 over their last 10 contests. In their most recent NJAC game, they split a twin bill against Rutgers-Camden on Saturday.

SERIES HISTORY
The Red Hawks are 71-50 against William Paterson but have dropped three consecutive games. Montclair's last victory came on April 19, 2022, as they topped WPU 7-3. They are 28-16 at home all-time and are 44-36 during NJAC play. 

LAST MEETING
Montclair fell 5-1 and 9-1 on April 18, 2023. AMBER REED had the lone RBI in game two with a single in the third inning, with ALYSSA BOROZAN collecting two hits. JENNA MELUSO had an RBI single in game two, with KAYLA COSENTINO drawing two walks.
