Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State University softball team hosts Rutgers-Camden in their New Jersey Athletic Conference home opener on Saturday.

The first pitch from the MSU Softball Stadium is scheduled for 1:00 pm, with the second game approximately 30 minutes after the first. Live stats and video can be found on montclairathletics.com.

LAST TIME OUT
The Red Hawks dropped both ends of a doubleheader to Stockton University on Saturday. They fell 5-3 in the opener, with MOLLY COLLIGAN, KAYLA COSENTINO, and STEPHANIE SERETIS delivering RBI singles. In the second game, Stockton knocked off Montclair 10-4, with DANIELA PLAGANIS tallying three RBI.

SCOUTING RUTGERS-CAMDEN
The Scarlet Raptors are 10-10 on the season and 1-1 in the NJAC. They have won three of their last four games, including a split in their NJAC opener against NJCU on Saturday.

SERIES HISTORY
The Red Hawks are 44-17 against Rutgers-Camden but have dropped their last three contests. Montclair's last win came on April 12, 2022, when they topped the Scarlet Raptors 10-2. The Red Hawks' best stretch was from 1983 – 2003, when they tallied 15 straight victories.

LAST MEETING
Montclair fell in both ends of a doubleheader on April 11, 2023. They were knocked off 5-2 in game one, as ALYSSA BOROZAN had three hits at the top of the lineup. In game two, Rutgers-Camden picked up a 6-3 victory, as AMBER REED went 3-for-4 with an RBI.
