Pitman, NJ- The Montclair State University Red Hawks saw three of its student-athletes get named NJAC Players of the Week for their performances from October 6-October 12.
Earning Offensive Players of the Week for men's and women's soccer were
TOMAS MONTEIRO and
KYLIE PRENDERGAST, while
ALEX BUCHWALD earned Defensive Player of the Week.
Monteiro continued to shine with another big week for Montclair State. He totaled eight points on the week with three goals and two assists. On Wednesday, in a 5-0 rout against DeSales, he scored two goals and an assist. He came back on Saturday against Rutgers-Newark and recorded a goal and an assist in the 6-4 victory.
Prendergast led Montclair to a 2-0 week with four goals and an assist for nine points. On Wednesday, in a 2-0 win on the road at Western Connecticut, she assisted the game-winning goal and scored the second. She came back on Saturday and had a hat-trick performance to propel the Red Hawks to a 4-0 win at Rutgers-Newark.
Buchwald led the Montclair defensive unit this past Saturday against Rowan. He was tied for the team lead in tackles with nine but had the most solo tackles with five. He also registered two sacks, one of which was a forced fumble that turned into a turnover.

Monteiro earns back-to-back weekly awards from the conference after being named NJAC Rookie of the Week last week, while Buchwald and Prendergast each earned their first awards of the season from the NJAC.
