Churchill Notches School Record as Cross Country Competes at Rowan Border Battle

Glassboro, NJ – Headlined by a school record from ABIGAIL CHURCHILL, the Montclair State University cross country team competed at the Rowan Border Battle on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Churchill led the way for Montclair, placing 21st with a time of 22:11.0, setting a new program best.
LILIANA SNYDER notched a mark of 24:38.1, with CECILE BERNARD close behind, clocking in at 24:39.4.
ODALYS GUERRERO-DOMINGUEZ tallied a time of 24:58.4, with JORDAN BOHRER rounding out the top 200 of the field with a mark of 25:21.2.
Continuing the entries in the Championship Race, BRIANNA RODDY (25:44.4), MACKENZIE COCHRAN (25:51.1), and ALISSA TAYLOR (26:55.7) notched marks within the next 50.
The remaining group for the Red Hawks included CAITLIN WITTERS (27:40.1), SOFIA MELO PATERNINA (27:56.7), AMBER SHEA (28:18.5), and MARY PICHETTE (28:27.2).

INSIDE THE RESULTS

As a group, the Red Hawks collected 598 team points with a 21st place team finish.
Montclair saw eight runners set new career-bests - Churchill, Bohrer, Bernard, Cochran, Guerrero-Dominguez, Melo-Paternina, Snyder, and Taylor. The times for Roddy and Witters marked season-bests.
The school record for Churchill ranked sixth in the Metro Region and the third time this season she has broken the time. Snyder's mark of 24:38.1 ranks ninth all-time in program history.
Montclair's team average time of 24:21.0 was the best of the season and almost a minute faster than the Red Hawks' last meet.

The Red Hawks will travel to Galloway, NJ for the 2025 New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday, November 1, with the meet scheduled for 10:30 AM.
