Five Red Hawks Awarded NJAC Players of the Week

Pitman, NJ – The New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) announced its weekly award winners on Monday afternoon, with Montclair State University earning five honors across four different sports.

Women's Soccer led the way with two selections, as KYLIE PRENDERGAST was named Offensive Player of the Week and CARLY GUZZARDO earned Rookie of the Week. BRYN BAUTISTA collected Player of the Week honors for Women's Volleyball, ROGER RUBINETTI was named Special Teams Player of the Week in Football, and TESSA DEVONE rounded out the group as the Rookie of the Week for Women's Swimming & Diving.

Prendergast continued her outstanding play during another 2-0 week for the Red Hawks. She scored twice, including the game-winner, in a 3-0 victory over Ramapo on Wednesday. She followed that performance with another game-winning goal and an assist in Saturday's 4-1 road win at Stockton, finishing the week with three goals and an assist for seven total points. Prendergast currently leads the NJAC in both goals (8) and points (20) during conference play this season.

Guzzardo served as the team's primary distributor in the midfield, totaling three assists over the two victories. She tallied one assist against Ramapo and added two more at Stockton — including helpers on both the game-tying and game-winning goals.

Bautista headlined a 4-0 week for Montclair State Volleyball with a dominant two-way performance. She recorded 57 kills (4.38 per set), 44 digs (3.38 per set), five service aces, and two blocks, posting double-digit kills in every match. Her top outing came in Saturday's 3-1 win at SUNY New Paltz, where she registered a career-high 20 kills, along with 16 digs and two blocks.

Rubinetti turned in another steady and well-rounded performance during the football team's 48-20 win at Vermont State, Castleton. He went a perfect 6-for-6 on extra points, punted three times for 117 yards (39.0 average) with two inside the 20, and booted a long of 47 yards. On kickoffs, he averaged 48.9 yards across eight attempts (391 total yards).

Devone continued her strong start to the season for Women's Swimming & Diving, competing against East Stroudsburg and Kutztown on Saturday. She captured the 100-backstroke title in 1:02.24 and helped the 200-medley relay to a second-place finish in 1:54.17.

Prendergast, Rubinetti, and Devone each earned their respective honors for the second time this season, while Guzzardo and Bautista picked up the first NJAC weekly awards of their careers.

This marks Montclair State's second-highest weekly total of NJAC Player of the Week honorees this fall, trailing only the October 6 release when six Red Hawks earned recognition.
