Greenwood, IN- Announced on Tuesday afternoon by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) organization, The Montclair State University Track & Field and Cross-Country teams saw five of its student-athletes get tabbed to the Academic All-District list.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Women's Track & Field Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.
In order to be eligible for the Women's Track & Field academic All-District team, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in eligibility, maintain a 3.5 or above GPA, and must have placed in the top 50 in their respective region in an individual event.
Representing the Red Hawks on the All-District list are
JULIA ACEVEDO,
DENISSE AGUILAR,
VICTORIA BERLINSKI,
ABIGAIL CHURCHILL, and
FAITH WILLIAMS.
Acevedo, a graduate student with a 4.0 GPA as a Public Health and Business Administration major, earned multiple qualifying marks to stamp her name on the All-District team. With eight individual marks that would have qualified her for the team, she was highlighted by two top-10 marks in the Metro Region, placing eighth in the outdoor triple jump with a mark of 11.36m and ninth in the indoor pentathlon with a score of 2748. Acevedo was a three-time All-NJAC nominee this season. She earned Honorable Mention and bronze medals in the indoor pentathlon and triple jump and notched a silver medal and Second Team recognition in the outdoor triple jump.
Aguilar, an exercise science major with a 3.50 GPA, represents both the cross country and track and field teams. During cross country season, she placed 16
th at the Metro Region finals with a time of 23:08.4 in the 6K. During the track and field season, she earned two 12th-place standings in the Metro Region. Denisse clocked an 18:46.77 5K during the indoor season and a 40:00.17 10k time during the outdoor season to earn her placements.
Berlinski, an exercise science major with a 3.52 GPA, notched her spot on the team with a Metro-Region placement of 36
th in the weight throw (12.03m) during the indoor season. She also placed 40
th in the discus with a mark of 31.53m during the outdoor season. Her weight throw was a personal-best that she hit at the NJAC Indoor Championships, where she placed 10
th in the event. Her discus throw came at the NJAC Outdoor Championships and notched ninth.
Churchill, an exercise science major with a 3.81 GPA, earned her spot on the 2025 team with four different qualifying times as a distance runner. She was headlined by her outdoor placements in the 1500-meter event (4:43.44) and the 5k (18:14.84) which both placed 10
th in the Metro Region. In those same events, Churchill earned her first career recognitions to the All-NJAC teams, becoming an Honorable Mention selection with bronze medal finishes at the NJAC Championships.
Williams wraps up the list with a 3.83 GPA as a child advocacy major. Her qualifying marks came during both the indoor and outdoor seasons. She had the 17
th best time this indoor season in the Metro Region in the 60-meter run with a time of 7.96. During the outdoor season, she finished with the 23
rd best mark in the region in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.72. Both times came during the respective season's NJAC Championships.
