Churchill Sets School Record as Cross Country Places Sixth at Osprey Open

Galloway, NJ – The Montclair State University cross country team notched a sixth place finish at the Osprey Open on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Red Hawks were led by ABIGAIL CHURCHILL, who recorded a third place finish with a mark of 22:48.99.
LILIANA SNYDER finished 40th in the field, clocking in at 25:16.73, with CECILE BERNARD close behind at 45th with a time of 25:35.89. JORDAN BOHRER notched a time of 26:09.69 to place 57th in the race.
ODALYS GUERRERO-DOMINGUEZ (27:31.69), ALISSA TAYLOR (28:14.26), and MARY PICHETTE (28:22.61) all recorded top 100 finishes along with CAITLIN WITTERS (29:05.25) and SOFIA MELO PATERNINA (29:19.33).
AMBER SHEA was close behind to round out the group at 29:39.57.

INSIDE THE RESULTS

As a team, Montclair collected 180 points to finish sixth among the group. The Red Hawks have tallied back-to-back sixth place finishes at the Osprey Open.
Churchill recorded a school record time, notching her third consecutive top three finish to begin the campaign. She is the first Red Hawk in program history to finish below 23 minutes in the 6K.
Bernard's time of 25:35.89 in her 6K debut ranks 16th in program history.
