Pitman, NJ- Announced on Monday afternoon by the New Jersey Athletic Conference, Montclair State University men's soccer sophomore
SEBASTIAN LAPCZYNSKI was named the NJAC Defensive Player of the Week in week four.
Â
Lapczynski came up big for Montclair during a 1-0 victory against a Vassar team that was receiving votes in the latest USC Top 25 poll. The defender contributed to the team's fifth-straight shutout and helped blank the Brewers, who were averaging three goals a game this season and were shut out for the first time this season. Lapczynski was also called upon in the 86th minute to take a penalty kick, which he hit for the game-winning goal.
Â
The sophomore earns his first NJAC weekly award of his young career and is the second weekly honor the men's soccer team earns from the conference this season.
Â
Men's Soccer looks to stay hot at MSU Soccer Park as they welcome New York University for a Wednesday night slate on September 24. Kickoff is set for a 7:00 p.m. start.
