Pitman, NJ- Announced on Tuesday afternoon by the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) office, Montclair State University saw three of its student-athletes nab NJAC Athlete of the Week awards for their performances between February 9-15.

Men's basketball saw
JACOB MORALES win Player of the Week and
CRISTIAN NICHOLSON take Rookie of the Week. Women's Indoor Track and Field freshman
MICEL MARTINEZ solidified herself as Rookie of the Week.

Morales had a monster week for Montclair during a 2-0 week as the top team in the nation. He averaged 26.5 points (.514 FG%) and 5.5 rebounds to go along with six steals and five assists. He also finished 11-for-26 from three on the week, with seven of them coming during Wednesday's victory against New Jersey City. He was also named the MET Basketball Writers Player of the Week as well.

Nicholson continued his impressive rookie campaign for the Red Hawks with another great week. He averaged 13 points, 5.5 assists, and 4.5 rebounds. His highlight performance came on Wednesday during a win against New Jersey City, where he nabbed 15 points, five rebounds, and five assists.

Martinez put together a great performance in the high jump at the NYU Division III Invitational on Saturday. She jumped 1.60m, which placed third at the event and is the third-best mark in the conference this season and fifth-best in the region.

Morales collected his third Player of the Week honor this season. Nicholson's impressive rookie season continued with his seventh Rookie of the Week honor. Martinez earned her first career weekly award and the first for Montclair women's track and field this season.

Men's basketball seeks to complete its first undefeated regular-season in program history when it takes on a receiving votes TCNJ team on Wednesday, February 18, at 7:00 p.m. Montclair track and field is set for competition at the NJAC Championships next. The two-day meet will begin on Saturday, February 21, at 5:00 p.m. The meet is taking place at the OTT Center on the campus of the University of Philadelphia.
