Kansas City, MO - Announced by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), the Montclair State University men's basketball team earned the Team Academic Excellence Award for its performance in the classroom during the 2025-26 year. Additionally, junior SHANE RYAN and senior Tyson Allen were both named to the 2025-26 Honors Court this year.
 
The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards recognize programs that completed the 2025-26 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The NABC Honors Court, meanwhile, includes junior, senior, and graduate student men's basketball players who finished the 2025-26 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
 
The Red Hawks, as a team, finished the year with a cumulative GPA of 3.12.
 
Ryan notched his spot with a 3.12 GPA as a communications major. He saw action in 12 games last season and finished the year with three points, five rebounds, five assists, and seven steals in 28 total minutes.
 
Allen finished the year with a 3.54 GPA as a business major. He finished his career with 29 points, 20 rebounds, three assists, and three steals in 10 games played.
 
Montclair concluded its historic season with a 25-3 overall record and a 17-1 mark in NJAC play, winning back-to-back NJAC Regular-Season Championships. The Red Hawks also returned to the NJAC Championship game for the second straight season and hosted an NCAA First and Second Round pod for the second consecutive year.
