Montclair, NJ - The Montclair State University Men's Basketball team was voted first in the D3Hoops.com Top 25 Poll, the organization announced on Monday afternoon.
The Red Hawks received 11 first place votes, moving up two spots from last week and holding a place in the poll all season long. For the first time in program history, the Red Hawks sit atop the country and became the first time Montclair team to be ranked first in the nation since Field Hockey in 2013.
At 22-0, Montclair is the only undefeated team in Division III and one of four remaining unbeaten squads across all three levels. Their win streak is the third-longest stretch in the history of the New Jersey Athletic Conference and the fifth-longest in the history of Montclair Athletics.
The Red Hawks are the first NJAC team to be ranked first in the history of the D3Hoops.com Top 25 Poll, and the first across any top 25 poll since Rowan's 1995-96 National Championship winning team. They are also the first NJAC team across all sports to sit atop the country since Rowan Men's Outdoor Track & Field in 2022.
Montclair will host NJCU on Wednesday, February 11. Tip-off from the Panzer Athletic Center is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
