Montclair, NJ- Announced on Tuesday afternoon by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) organization, five student-athletes from the Montclair State University baseball team notched Academic All-District honors for their performances on and off the diamond in 2026.

The 2026 Academic All-District® Baseball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes women's basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.

To be eligible for the Academic All-District team, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher and have a 3.50 cumulative GPA. Position players must have competed in at least 90% of the team games played, or have started at least 66% of the total number of team games played. For pitchers, players must pitch 35-plus innings or appear in 17 games as a pitcher.

Representing the Red Hawks on this year's list are

Dowlen pitched 63.2 innings in 11 starts this season on the mound and graduated with a 3.62 GPA as a marketing major. The senior ace garnered a 3.82 ERA, had a .214 batting average against, and struck out 65 batters to compile an 8-2 record. Dowlen was an ABCA/Rawlings Third Team All-Region selection this season. He also won NJAC Pitcher of the Week and D3baseball.com Team of the Week for his nine-strikeout and shutout performance against UMass Dartmouth at the beginning of the season.

Levis garners a 3.84 GPA as a business administration major and started all 42 of his appearances this season. He batted .372 with 58 hits, 32 RBI, seven doubles, two triples, and 62 runs scored. He also led the team with 36 stolen bases. In the field, he tallied a .972 fielding percentage with 73 putouts and an assist. Levis earns this accolade to go along with the Second Team All-NJAC honor he got this year.

Tigar started all 42 games this season while maintaining a 3.80 GPA as a business administration major. Tigar finished the season with a batting average of .365 with 57 hits, 40 RBI, nine doubles, three triples, two home runs, 31 runs scored, and nine stolen bases. In the field, he produced 102 putouts and 60 assists. Billy's performances also earned him ABCA/Rawlings Third Team All-Region in 2026.

Teehan pitched 22.1 innings out of the bullpen this season in 17 games and compiled a 3.54 GPA as an exercise science major. He finished his final season with an ERA of 3.22, struck out 28 batters, and earned seven saves. He finishes his collegiate career as the program's all-time saves leader (19) and earned ABCA/Rawlings Third Team All-Region.

Wansaw rounds out the list with a 3.98 GPA as a finance major and was a 41-game starter this year in the outfield. Wansaw led the team with a batting average of .407 with 61 hits, 33 RBI, 10 doubles, three triples, a home run, 38 runs scored, and 13 stolen bases. In the field, he picked up a .978 fielding percentage with 88 putouts. Wansaw's triples all came in a win against SUNY New Paltz, which set a program record. He also nabbed First Team All-NJAC and ABCA/Rawlings Second Team All-Region.

All of these student-athletes earn this honor for the second time, except Wansaw Jr., who nabs it for the first time.

Baseball finished a tremendous 2026 campaign with a 33-11 overall record. They hosted an NCAA Regional pod for the first time since 2000 and won their first NCAA tournament game since 2008 with their 10-5 win over Whitworth on May 15.
