The John Davis and Dr. M. Benjamin Burton Athletic Training Sports Medicine Center was dedicated on Sunday, March 28, 2010.

From 1984 to 2019 Davis served as Montclair State University’s Head Athletic Trainer.  During his tenure over 34-plus years, Davis has also been very involved professionally.  He is a member of the ATSNJ Hall of Fame, EATA Hall of Fame, The NATA Hall of Fame, and the MSU Athletics HOF.

Ben Burton has been associated with Montclair State University since 1994, providing care to student-athletes and has served as an adjunct instructor. He specializes in Orthopedic and Sports related injuries for patients of all ages with special interest in knee, shoulder and spinal pathology.

Burton received a portion of his training from Montclair State University and has worked with many local and professional athletes. He is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Rocky Mountain University, and Kean University. He is Board Certified by the American Physical Therapy Association in both Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy, Board certified by the National Athletic Training Association as a Certified Athletic Trainer, and also Board Certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
