Emergency Action Plan

All Emergencies Call University Police (973) 655-5222

Site:
  • EAP’s are posted at each athletic venue- Please determine your location.
 
Emergency Personnel:        
  • During NCAA Varsity Athletics contact Athletic Trainers if on campus.
  • If not on campus and all other events contact University Police to activate EMS.

Emergency Equipment: 
  • AED/ First Aid Kits are located around many of our athletic venues.  Please make sure you review the EAP posted at each venue to determine these locations.
  • University Police and EMS also have AED’s and O2 in designated vehicles.
 
Emergency Response:
  1. Immediate Care of the Injured Individual
    1. Scene Safety
    2. Consider C-Spine Injury and DO NOT move the injured individual
    3. Check level of Responsiveness, Airway, Breathing, Circulation and other threats of life
    4. Act in accordance with Standard First Aid Protocols
  2. Activation of EMS
    1. Call University Police 973-655-5222 and give dispatcher your name and location of the emergency, number and condition of individuals in emergency crisis, first aid being rendered, and other requested information. 
      • DO NOT HANG UP UNTIL INSTRUCTED BY THE DISPATCHER
  3. Emergency Equipment Retrieval
    1. Use resources if possible to gather equipment and/ or additional personnel from your venue specific EAP.
  4. Direction of EMS to the Scene

University Police shall proceed to the location you provided, if possible have someone direct them to your location.  They will then assist EMS to your location.
