Roth put forth a tremendous effort helping Montclair State to a fifth-place finish at the Metropolitan Conference Championships over the weekend. The junior posted two NCAA Division III Championship qualifying times and set two individual records while swimming on a pair of relays that also set new MSU marks. Roth finished second in the 200 butterfly with a record time of 1:49.92 seconds that put him on the list for next month's NCAA Championship in Texas. He added a second NCAA time in the 100 butterfly clocking in at 49.14 seconds and was part of the 200 and 400 medley relay teams that both placed fifth with new Montclair State record times of 1:33.99 and 3:24.73 respectively.
