Box Score Rocky Mount, NC – North Carolina Wesleyan first baseman Derek Parascandola belted two of the Battling Bishops' six home runs as the hosts scored in each of the first five innings in a 17-3 victory over Montclair State on Tuesday.
Right fielder Chris Johnson homered and drove in three runs for North Carolina Wesleyan, which improved to 4-3 on the year. The two teams were scheduled to meet last weekend at the Rawlings Classic in Atlanta and will meet again on Thursday, March 8.

CRAIG CONWAY homered for Montclair (2-2), which is off to a 0-1 start on its eight-game trip.
Conway homered for the second consecutive game and gave Montclair a 2-0 lead in the first inning. The Bishops answered with five runs in the bottom half, all on home runs. Pat Bullard connected for a two-run shot and Joel Yednock belted a solo shot for the lead. Chris Johnson capped the inning with a two-run homer making the score 5-2.
NCW extended the lead to 7-2 with single runs in the second and third before
SCOTT ALLAN got a run back for MSU in the fourth with a solo homer. North Carolina Wesleyan then broke the game open with another five-run inning in the bottom half. Parascandola delivered the big blow with a three-run homer widening the lead to 12-3.
Carl Wheeless (1-1) went the distance for the Bishops allowing four hits and three runs. He struck out 15 and walked one. Junior lefthander

MSU will look to bounce back on Wednesday, March 7 as it continues its trip. The Red Hawks will be in Greensboro, NC taking on Greensboro College at 3:00 pm.
