Stroudsburg, PA (02/01/03) - A number of Red Hawks chalked up strong performances in several events at the Fourth Annual Dick DeSchriver Track & Field Invitational, held at East Stroudsburg (PA) University.
Montclair senior TIERRA HICKS (Hillsborough, NJ) finished first in both the Women's 200 Dash and 400 Dash. She ran the 200 Dash in 25.93 seconds and the 400 Dash in 57.49 seconds. She also placed first in her heat for the Women's 55 Hurdles (9.62), while freshman IRIS REYES (Dover, NJ) was sixth in her heat (1:08.52). Freshman DOMINIQUE NELSON (Richmond, VA) was sixth in her 200 Dash heat (28.69).
MSU junior ALEX TORRES (Irvington, NJ) finished first in his Men's 400 Dash heat in a time of 50.03 seconds. Junior DARRYL LOUIS (Trenton, NJ) placed second (50.24), while freshman PAUL NOEL (East Orange, NJ) was fourth (50.96) and sophomore CHRIS MONACO (Clifton, NJ) was fifth (51.40). Louis also finished third in the Men's 200 Dash finals (22.65), while MSU finished second in the Men's 4x400 Relay in 3 minutes, 22.21 seconds.
Sophomore OSEI BONSU (Parlin, NJ) finished sixth in the Men's 55 Hurdles finals (7.91 seconds), while freshman CURTIS SYLVESTER (Jersey City, NJ) recorded a distance of 20-5 in the Men's Long Jump.
