Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State baseball team swept the New Jersey Athletic Conference rookie honors on Monday as freshman PETER COSENTINO and TYLER DIEFENBACH were named Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively.

Cosentino batted .400 with an on-base percentage of .526 during the Red Hawks' four games at the RussMatt Invitational last week. He posted a pair of multiple-hit games including three in a 5-3 loss to Keystone College. Cosentino also scored a pair of runs, drew two walks and was hit by a pitch twice in addition to successfully handling all 28 chances in the field.

Diefenbach earned his second win of the season as he closed out Montclair State's trip with a 4-1 win over Lawrence University. The righthander went the first seven innings allowing a run and four hits with eight strikeouts. He is now 2-0 on the year with a 2.65 ERA in three starts fanning 14 in 17 innings of work.
