Volleyball: Gameday Preview vs. Stockton

Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State volleyball team hosts Stockton University in a crucial New Jersey Athletic Conference matchup Tuesday.
 
GAME INFO

The first serve is scheduled for 7 pm inside the Panzer Athletic Center, and live stats and video are available on montclairathletics.com. Video can also be found on the Red Hawk Sports Network YouTube Channel.
 
LAST TIME OUT

The Red Hawks downed FDU-Florham in straight sets to notch their eighth consecutive victory. All eight wins during the run have come in three sets. Senior CARLY WATERMAN led the way with 19 digs and 13 kills, while DELANEY ST. PIERRE handed out 32 assists in the victory.
 
AWARD SEASON

For the second time this season, Waterman was named the NJAC Player of the Week. In two matches last week, the senior averaged a double-double of 12.5 kills and 14.5 digs.

STOCKTON REPORT

The Ospreys are 9-12 on the season but boast a 4-1 mark in the NJAC. They split a tri-match at Cabrini on Saturday, topping the host Cavaliers in five sets before falling to Cortland in three. In the NJAC, they beat Rutgers-Newark in three before knocking off Kean, Rutgers-Camden, and William Paterson in four. Their only blemish in conference play came against Rowan when they fell in five.
 
LAST MEETING

Last spring, Stockton knocked off MSU 3-0 in the NJAC Championship Match, winning 25-12, 25-18, 25-13. The Ospreys outhit MSU .375-.071 over the three frames. Waterman posted six kills and six digs in the setback.
 
SERIES HISTORY

Montclair is 4-52 all-time against Stockton, with all four wins coming since 2007. The Red Hawks' lone home victory came in 2009 when they won in four sets. Their last victory came in the 2016 NJAC Semifinals, battling back from a 2-0 hole to win in five.

On Thursday, the Red Hawks hit the road and will face William Paterson at 7 pm in Wayne, NJ.
