Red Hawks Look to Snap Skid as They Open NJAC Action

Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State volleyball team hosts Rutgers-Camden in the New Jersey Athletic Conference opener Tuesday.

LAST TIME OUT
For the second consecutive match, the Red Hawks fell in five sets, this time to SUNY Cortland. After winning the first set, the Red Hawks dropped the next two. They were able to a fifth set after claiming the fourth 26-24 but dropped the deciding frame 15-13. Junior GIANNA ARIAS collected eight blocks, while senior libero KATELYN MONAGHAN picked up 30 digs for the second straight match.

SCARLET RAPTORS REPORT
Rutgers-Camden enters the match with a 5-2 mark on the season. On Saturday, they split a tri-match at Centenary, topping the host Cyclones 3-0 in the opening game. The Scarlet Raptors fell to King's College 3-2 in the final match of the day.
 
LAST MEETING
In their last meeting, the Red Hawks claimed a 3-2 victory over Rutgers-Camden back on March 11, 2021. The two sides split the first four sets before MSU took the fifth 15-12. LEAH HIGGINS led the team with 15 kills while KELLY WATERMAN handed out 44 assists.
 
SERIES HISTORY

Montclair State leads the overall series 16-5 against the Scarlet Raptors. Rutgers-Camden's last victory came on October 6, 2015, as they topped Montclair State in a five-set thriller. The Red Hawks have won the previous five meetings since that setback.
