Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State volleyball team heads to the Gettysburg, PA, for the two-day Gettysburg Battlefield Classic beginning Friday evening.

The Red Hawks, who received votes in the AVCA National Poll, were chosen second behind defending New Jersey Athletic Conference Champion Stockton University in the NJAC Preseason Coaches' Poll. Montclair received two first-place votes in the poll.

GALLAUDET REPORT
The Bison return four critical components to their roster is senior outside Karita Lewis (421 kills, 367 digs), senior libero Mia Upchurch (412 digs, 23 aces), junior setter Emma Giuntoli (1,049 assists, 57 aces), and senior opposite Elina Rubinshteyn (182 kills). Gallaudet did not compete in 2020 but went 11-24 in 2019 and fell in the NEAC Quarterfinals to Penn State Abington.
 
RED DEVILS NOTES
Dickinson was picked to finished seventh in the Centennial Conference Preseason poll and is led by senior Emma Lange. In 2019, Lange finished the year with 253 kills and 71 blocks, while right side Hanna Riley added 176 kills and 42 rejections.
 
LAST MEETINGS
It's been nearly 16 years since the Red Hawks and Red Devils met last, as the two sides last faced off on September 9, 2005. The Red Devils earned a 3-0 straight-set victory in that match. Montclair and Gallaudet last squared off on September 30, 2017. In that match, Montclair held a 2-1 advantage, but the Bison stormed back to win the final two frames for a 3-2 victory.
 
SERIES HISTORIES
Montclair State is 0-2 against both Dickinson and Gallaudet. Both of the setbacks to Gallaudet have been by identical 3-2 margins.
