The Red Hawks (21-7, 6-1 NJAC) knocked off NJCU 23-4 Thursday afternoon, scoring 13 runs in the first inning and nine in the third. JORDEN JURKIEWICZ homered twice and knocked in six runs, while JOE NORTON and MILES FEASTER drove in five runs apiece.

SCOUTING THE GOTHIC KNIGHTS
NJCU is 8-18 on the year, including an 0-6 mark within the NJAC. They have dropped eight consecutive games, with their last win coming against Saint Elizabeth on March 31.
 
SERIES HISTORY
Montclair State holds a 117-17-1 mark overall and has won the last six contests. NJCU's previous victory came on April 23, 2019, in a 5-2 win at Kean University. The Gothic Knights haven't won at Yogi Berra Stadium since April 29, 2011, and MSU is 41-4-1 all-time against NJCU.
 
LAST MEETING
Last year, the Red Hawks swept NJCU in a doubleheader, winning 14-4 in the opener and 17-8 in game two. PETER COSENTINO and ANTHONY GUARINO tallied four hits apiece in game one as PATRICK CUCCURULLO earned the win with seven innings and four strikeouts. Guarino drove in four runs in the nightcap as MILES FEASTER crossed home plate four times.

The Red Hawks will face The College of New Jersey in a doubleheader on Saturday, beginning at 11:30 am. Montclair State will retire 2020 College Baseball Hall of Fame inductee John Deutsch's #27 in a pregame ceremony as the Red Hawks hold Alumni Appreciation Day.
