Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State baseball team visits Rutgers University-Camden to close out the regular season Saturday.

LAST TIME OUT
The Red Hawks (28-9, 13-3 NJAC) blanked Kean 11-0 Friday afternoon. ETHAN GONZALEZ went the distance, striking out two and surrendering just six hits. Gonzalez became the first Red Hawks pitcher since BRIAN REISS in 2019 to throw a complete game shutout. MILES FEASTER, MICHAEL MURPHY, JASON MOORE, and RYAN MCKENNA tallied two hits in the win.

SCOUTING THE SCARLET RAPTORS
The Scarlet Raptors are 17-21 on the season and 4-12 in the NJAC. They are riding a nine-game losing skid, with their last win coming against NJCU on April 16.

Overall, Montclair State holds a 64-15 record against Rutgers-Camden, winning seven of the last 10 matchups. Camden's previous win at home in the series came on April 5, 2014.

LAST MEETING
Last spring, the Red Hawks swept a doubleheader against the Scarlet Raptors, winning 6-5 and 14-3. MILES FEASTER went 4-for-6 in the opener and had the walk-off single with three RBI, while ALEC BENZINGER notched the win with 2 2/3 scoreless innings of relief. In the nightcap, ANDREW OLLWERTHER went 5-for-6 with three RBI, and PATRICK CUCCURULLO earned the win with five innings and nine strikeouts.
