PETER COSENTINO gained Second Team honors. The NJAC had a league-record total of 1,248 student-athletes have been named to the New Jersey Athletic Conference All-Academic Team for the 2021-22 academic year. To be eligible for the squad, a student-athlete must be a sophomore, junior or senior who has competed in a conference-sponsored sport while achieving a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.20.
Now a two-time AVCA All-American, Waterman led the team with 276 kills and notched her 1,000th career kill against Mount St. Mary on October 16. She tallied double-figure kills in 19 matches and had 10 or more digs 15 times. In the season-opener against Gallaudet, she posted a double-double of 19 kills and 19 digs before matching the 19 digs in a win over FDU-Florham. She tallied double-doubles in wins over William Paterson (14 kills and 10 digs), Rutgers-Camden (12 kills and 12 digs), and Rowan (13 kills and 16 digs).
Keenan finished the season with an 11-2-0 record, making 32 saves while surrendering just four goals. He made six starts in the NJAC regular season, going 6-0-0 with 15 saves, and has been a part of five clean sheets. On October 2, he stopped a season-high four shots as the Red Hawks topped TCNJ 3-0. Keenan has tallied a ..889 save percentage and .32 goals-against average this campaign. He was named a Second Team Academic All-American by CoSIDA during the end of the fall season.
Cosentino was named First Team All-Region by D3baseball.com and the ABCA and was a First Team All-NJAC choice this season. He batted .352 with 25 hits, 21 runs scored, seven doubles, two home runs, and 14 RBI during the 18-game league slate. He slugged .563 and had an on-base percentage of .434 with an OPS of .997. Cosentino was ninth in the NJAC in slugging percentage, eighth in doubles, and sixth in runs scored. Overall all this season, the slugging first baseman from Whitehouse Station batted .383 with 67 hits, 17 doubles, 10 home runs, and 52 RBI while also scoring 56 runs.
Weckstein notched her second career All-NJAC honor in cross country as she was tabbed to the Second Team. Weckstein helped the Red Hawks to a fifth-place finish at the conference meet as she finished 11
th overall covering the 6K course in a time of 24:38.8, just .2 seconds away from a Top 10 showing. She trimmed nearly 12 seconds off her season-best time set two weeks prior at the Rowan Border Battle. The junior also gained NJAC laurels in the 10,000-meter during the outdoor season. Weckstein clocked in at 41:51.26 to place second. She finished just six seconds behind Samantha Aromin of Penn State-Harrisburg and was running in the 10,000 for the first time during the outdoor season this year.
