Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State baseball team opens the 2023 campaign on Thursday as they face off against McDaniel College.

2022 REWIND
The Red Hawks notched 31 wins and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2009 last season. Montclair State placed five student-athletes on the ABCA/Rawlings and D3baseball.com All-Region teams. PETER COSENTINO and JORDEN JURKIEWICZ gained First Team accolades from both organizations, while MILES FEASTER notched a First Team honor from D3baseball. ANTHONY GUARINO picked up Second Team honors from D3baseball and Third Team from the ABCA, while PATRICK CUCCURULLO was Second Team on the ABCA list and Third Team D3baseball. Rounding out the selections was JOE NORTON, who claimed Third Team from the ABCA.

SCOUTING THE GREEN TERROR
McDaniel is 2-0 on the season, notching two wins over Bridgewater (Va.) on Saturday. They picked up a 13-11 win in the opener before topping the Eagles 8-6 in the nightcap.

LAST MEETING
The Red Hawks swept a doubleheader in Aberdeen last spring, winning 7-6 in 10 innings in game one behind three RBI from JORDEN JURKIEWICZ. They notched a 6-3 triumph in game two as six different Red Hawks recorded RBI.
