Preview | Baseball vs. Stockton

Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State baseball team hosts Stockton University in New Jersey Athletic Conference play Saturday.

LAST TIME OUT
The Red Hawks (19-9, 6-6 NJAC) rallied for six runs in the top of the ninth to knock off William Paterson 12-8 Friday afternoon. Trailing 7-2 after six, the Red Hawks got three runs in the seventh and one in the eighth to make it 8-6. REECE MALEK hit a game-tying double with two outs in the ninth, and RYAN MCKENNA's two-run single to right made it 10-8. SAM ANGELO followed with a two-run home run to cement the victory.

SCOUTING THE OSPREYS
The Ospreys are 19-14 on the season, including a 6-6 mark in the NJAC. In their most recent series, they split with TCNJ, falling 5-4 Thursday but rebounding with an 8-7 victory Friday.

SERIES HISTORY
Montclair is 50-13 against Stockton, including 23 consecutive wins from 1976-2003. The Ospreys have won three of the last four matchups, with the lone victory being a 9-6 triumph on April 10, 2021.

LAST MEETING 
The Red Hawks fell 11-10 and 6-3 to Stockton on April 23, 2022. RYAN MCKENNA knocked in three runs in game one, with PETER COSENTINO, MILES FEASTER, and JASON MOORE collecting three hits. In the nightcap, Feaster went 3-for-4, and Mike Murphy had an eighth-inning RBI double.
