Preview | Baseball vs. William Paterson (NJAC First Round)

Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State baseball team hosts William Paterson University in the First Round of the New Jersey Athletic Conference Tournament Friday.

GAME INFO
The first pitch at Yogi Berra Stadium is scheduled for 3:30 pm, with live stats and video available on montclairathletics.com. Video can also be found on the Red Hawk Sports Network YouTube.

TICKET INFO
Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for senior citizens/children/visiting students. The first 50 Montclair State students will be admitted free with valid ID. 

LAST TIME OUT

The Red Hawks (25-9, 12-6 NJAC) swept Rutgers-Camden in a doubleheader, winning 8-6 and 9-3. SAM ANGELO snapped a 6-6 tie with a long home run to right field in game one, as MILES FEASTER added three hits. MATTHEW TIPLADY tossed 6 1/3 innings in game two, with RYAN MCKENNA going 3-for-4 and Feaster knocking in three runs.

SERIES HISTORY
 Montclair is 117-89 against William Paterson and took both games against the Pioneers this season. The two sides met in the NJAC Tournament last season, with William Paterson coming away with a victory.

LAST MEETING 
The Red Hawks rallied for six runs in the top of the ninth to knock off William Paterson 12-8 on April 21. Trailing 7-2 after six, the Red Hawks got three runs in the seventh and one in the eighth to make it 8-6. REECE MALEK hit a game-tying double with two outs in the ninth, and RYAN MCKENNA's two-run single to right made it 10-8. SAM ANGELO followed with a two-run home run to cement the victory.

UP NEXT
The winner of this game plays the winner of No. 2 Kean and No. 5 TCNJ Saturday at 7 pm, while the loser plays the winner of Rowan and Stockton Saturday at 3:30 at Kean University.
