Women's Track & Field Completes Historic Day at TCNJ Indoor Open

New York, NY – The Montclair State University women's track & field team opened their 2024-25 campaign at the TCNJ Indoor Open on Saturday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED

MICHELLE ITOUA and MCKAY ALBY finished fourth and fifth in the 60m with a time of 7.97, a regional qualifying time. FAITH WILLIAMS notched a mark of 8.09, 0.3 off her personal record.
Maya Yeslonis recorded a mark of 13.32m in the weight throw, finishing second in the meet. She also placed fourth in the shot put with a mark of 10.71m.
In the 300m, Itoua set a new school record with a time of 42.51. Odalys Guerreo-Dominguez (43.65) set a mark that ranks second all-time in the event. ALEXA ALI's time of 44.31 is sixth in program history, with KAELYN RODRIGUEZ notching a time of 46.36, which places seventh in program history among freshman.
JULIA ACEVEDO won the meet and set the school record with a mark of 10.87m in the triple jump. SARAH LUMAS notched a mark of 9.75m, which ranks 10th among freshman in program history.

INSIDE THE RESULTS

Alby set the freshman school record in the 60m and ranks second all-time with a time of 7.94, set in the trial portion of the meet.
MAILE O'NEILL ranks fourth in program history with a time of 8.06 in the 60m, which is also tied for second among freshman competitors. AISHA GARCIA (8.23) notched a mark that ranks ninth all-time among freshmen.
The 13.32m mark for Yesalonis ranks third in program history in the weight throw.

"Awesome first meet. Two school records and a ton of top tens. We have such a young team, so it was just great for us to get to see them compete and have fun. UP NEXT

The Red Hawks will compete in the River Hawk Opener on Friday, December 13, hosted by Susquehanna University. Montclair's JULIA ACEVEDO will compete in the pentathlon at 4:00 PM in Selinsgrove, PA.
