LAST TIME OUT
Montclair fell to Swarthmore 17-7 in their 2024 season opener on Friday, February 23 at Ripken Experience. After the Garnet jumped out to a 5-1 advantage, the Red Hawks used a five-run third inning, powered by a two-RBI double from RYAN MCKENNA, to claim the lead. Both sides were held scoreless over the next two frames, with Swarthmore putting up four tallies in each of the next three innings to build a 17-6 lead. Montclair got one back in the bottom of the eighth, but Swarthmore closed out the Red Hawks to seal the victory. McKenna recorded the 100th hit of his Montclair career, and MARCUS JOHNSON finished with three hits and two runs in his debut for the Red Hawks.

SCOUTING MOUNT ALOYSIUS
The Mounties finished their 2023 campaign with a record of 17-20, including a 8-6 mark in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference play. They won eight games over a stretch of 10 contests from April 5-19, and closed the regular season with three consecutive wins. In the AMCC Tournament, they fell in a best of three series to Penn State Altoona. Pitcher/Outfielder Tyler Quade was picked as the AMCC Preseason Player of the Year for the second straight season after finishing as a Fourth Team All-American by the American Baseball Coaches Association and Rawlings. As a team, the Mounties were picked fourth in their conference.

SERIES HISTORY
Saturday's contest will mark the second-ever meeting between the two sides, with Montclair claiming the only prior encounter in March of 2009.

LAST MEETING
Montclair took down Mount Aloysius 6-2 on March 7, 2009 in Demorest, GA. Michael Streaman went 6.1 innings allowing two runs and three hits, striking out three. The Red Hawks built a four run lead after three innings, highlighted by a triple from Kevin Bond that scored Jay Bionde. Ed Kloepping extended the lead to 5-0 in the fifth with an RBI single. After Mount Aloysius struck for two runs to trim the deficit to three, the Red Hawks tacked on a run in the ninth as Sean Galligan singled to drive home the sixth and final tally of the contest.

The Red Hawks will close out their three-game slate in Maryland on Sunday, February 25, as they will take on McDaniel. First pitch from Ripken Experience is scheduled for 12:30 PM.
