Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State University baseball team will conclude its four game homestand on Monday afternoon against Maritime College.

LAST TIME OUT
Montclair swept Franklin & Marshall in a doubleheader on Sunday, March 3 at Yogi Berra Stadium. MATT PONTARI struck out six over 5.1 innings in game one, with JACK HAVESON allowing only two hits in relief the rest of the way. With the game tied in the bottom of the eighth, JOE GISONDA tripled to right field and REECE MALEK brought him home on a fly ball to right to give the Red Hawks the 2-1 edge, which they sealed in the ninth. In game two, Montclair exploded for six runs over the opening two frames, a run capped off by a three-run home run by SAM ANGELO to right center. MICHAEL TIMBERLAKE, CHRISTIAN ADDOTTA, and MICHAEL TODARO combined for 12 strikeouts, one off the season-high of 13 for the Red Hawks.

SCOUTING MARITIME
The Privateers enter Monday's contest 2-1 on the campaign and will look to build off their 2023 season where they went 29-15 and made it to the Skyline Conference Tournament championship game. They have won 20 or more games six times dating back to the 2016 season, including a NCAA Tournament appearance in 2017. This season, they opened with a three game series against Utica where they won the first two games by a 18-2 margin before falling 9-4 in the finale on Sunday, February 25.

The two sides will meet for the first time in their history on Monday afternoon.

Monday will mark the first-ever clash between Montclair and Maritime.
