LAST TIME OUT
Montclair swept #10/11 Rowan in a doubleheader on Saturday, April 6 at Yogi Berra Stadium. The Red Hawks won by a combined 20 runs, taking the opener 8-0 before surging to a 12-0 victory in the second game. It marked the first time they posted back-to-back shutouts in a conference doubleheader since the 2012 season, when they took down Rowan. JACK HAVESON tossed a career-high eight shutout innings while striking out seven in the first game, and MICHAEL TIMBERLAKE threw seven shutout frames with eight strikeouts, marking the fourth time this season he tallied six or more scoreless innings in a start. JASON MOORE finished with five hits and six runs batted in over the two games, with SAM ANGELO accumulating six hits and three RBI. The Red Hawks totaled 32 hits on the day, including a season-high 21 in the second contest.

SCOUTING KEAN
The Cougars enter Thursday's contest with a 15-11 mark and a 2-4 record in New Jersey Athletic Conference play. They opened their season with victories in seven of their first eight games, including a 11-10 triumph over #11 Misericordia. Kean dropped four of their next five, facing three ranked teams during that stretch, boasting a victory over #23 Webster. The Cougars went 4-2 over their remaining games heading into conference play and have victories over #6 Rowan and NJCU since starting NJAC play. Kean amassed a 27-17-1 record during the 2023 campaign and made an appearance in the NJAC Championship Game. They were tabbed second in the NJAC Preseason Coaches Poll and received two first place votes.

SERIES HISTORY
Montclair has won 100 of the 147 all-time meetings with Kean, including six of the last 10. The Red Hawks have won two of their last three played at Union, with the two sides meeting four times in postseason play since the 2021 season. Montclair has scored eight or more runs in each of the last five clashes with the Cougars.

LAST MEETING
The Red Hawks fell to Kean 11-8 in the NJAC Tournament on May 7, 2023. Montclair opened a 2-0 lead in the first inning with MATTEO PASCULLI and JASON MOORE driving in runs. Kean would later take a 5-4 advantage after three innings, and after the Red Hawks briefly retook the lead, the Cougars rattled off five-straight runs to go up 11-6 after eight and would hold on to advance in the competition. JOE GISONDA had a career-high five hits with two home runs and three runs scored.
