LAST TIME OUT
Montclair split a doubleheader with Stockton on Saturday, April 13. The Red Hawks took game one 11-4, powered by two home runs from SAM ANGELO. Montclair jumped out to a 6-0 lead after two frames, and added three more in the sixth on an Angelo homer after tacking one on in the fourth. The visitors plated a final run in the ninth to seal the victory. JACK HAVESON tossed six scoreless frames to move to 6-0 on the year, striking out four. The two sides were tied at one going into the bottom of the sixth of the second contest, as Stockton used a solo homer to take the slim edge. After the Ospreys built a 4-1 lead after seven, the Red Hawks climbed back to tie the game in the ninth. Stockton hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the stanza to conclude the game.

SCOUTING KEAN
The Cougars enter Sunday's contest with a 18-11 mark and a 5-4 record in New Jersey Athletic Conference play. They opened their season with victories in seven of their first eight games, including a 11-10 triumph over #11 Misericordia. Kean dropped four of their next five, facing three ranked teams during that stretch, boasting a victory over #23 Webster. The Cougars went 4-2 over their remaining games heading into conference play and have won three straight after starting NJAC play 2-4. Kean amassed a 27-17-1 record during the 2023 campaign and made an appearance in the NJAC Championship Game. They were tabbed second in the NJAC Preseason Coaches Poll and received two first place votes.

SERIES HISTORY
Montclair has won 100 of the 148 all-time meetings with Kean, including six of the last 10. The Red Hawks have won two of their last three played at Union, with the two sides meeting four times in postseason play since the 2021 season. Montclair has scored six or more runs in each of the last six clashes with the Cougars.

LAST MEETING
Montclair fell to Kean 12-6 on Friday, April 12 at Yogi Berra Stadium. The Red Hawks struck for two runs in the second inning on three consecutive doubles, but the Cougars scored three runs over the next two frames to take their first lead of the contest. Montclair leveled the game in the sixth on a solo home run to right center from JOE GISONDA, but Kean answered with three homers in the next stanza to build a five-run advantage. After the visitors expanded the margin to nine, Gisonda launched his second home run to cut the margin by two in the eighth. The Red Hawks tallied a final run in the ninth, but Kean sealed the victory and escaped a bases loaded jam. MICHAEL MURPHY tallied his 100th hit in the contest, and Gisonda's multi-home run game was the second of his career.
