LAST TIME OUT
Montclair split a doubleheader with Rutgers-Newark on Saturday, April 20 that featured a combined 62 runs. After falling 12-10 in the opener, the Red Hawks defeated the Scarlet Raiders 22-18 behind 12 runs over the final three innings in game two. The 22 runs marked a new season-high for the Red Hawks and the 14th time this season they have eclipsed double-digit runs, matching their total from the 2023 campaign. SAM ANGELO and REECE MALEK each tallied six hits over the two games, with Malek's four in game two marking a new career-high. MICHAEL MURPHY collected four hits and six runs batted in, with his five in game two setting a new career best.

SCOUTING RUTGERS-CAMDEN
The Scarlet Raptors enter Thursday's contest with an 8-6 mark in New Jersey Athletic Conference play and 23-12 for the 2024 campaign. They opened the season winners of five of their first six contests, and after dropping contests to #8 Johns Hopkins and York College, they rattled off wins in 10 of their next 12. In conference play, they swept Kean in a doubleheader and also have wins against NJCU, TCNJ, Rutgers-Newark, and Ramapo. They have lost three of the last five games coming into this week's slate of contests. Rutgers-Camden went 22-18 during the 2023 season and narrowly missed out on the NJAC Tournament, and were tabbed eighth in the 2024 NJAC Preseason Coaches Poll.

SERIES HISTORY
Montclair leads the all-time series against Rutgers-Camden 68-15 and has won each of the last six meetings against the Scarlet Raptors. The Red Hawks have amassed a 31-7 home record against Rutgers-Camden and have won the last four at Yogi Berra Stadium. Montclair has scored eight or more runs in each of their last five contests against the Scarlet Raptors.

LAST MEETING
Montclair swept Rutgers-Camden in the 2023 regular season finale on May 2, 2023 at Yogi Berra Stadium. After the visitors took the lead in the top of the first, the Red Hawks answered with four runs in the bottom half on hits from JASON MOORE and ZACH STEARNS. The Scarlet Raptors climbed back to take a 6-4 advantage in the sixth, but Montclair tied the game in the bottom portion of the frame on an error and an infield single from RYAN MCKENNA. SAM ANGELO launched a home run to make the score 8-6, a lead the Red Hawks didn't relinquish. MATTHEW TIPLADY tossed 4.2 hitless innings before the Red Hawks erupted for four runs with two outs in the fifth. The home side added another four in the sixth, and held off the Scarlet Raptors, who tallied a run in each of the next three innings.
