LAST TIME OUT
Montclair used a late-inning surge to top William Paterson 8-5 on Thursday, April 4 at Yogi Berra Stadium. The Red Hawks fell behind in the second inning, as the Pioneers plated five runs. Montclair immediately answered in the frame, as JASON MOORE singled and MAX MCLOUGHLIN reached on a throwing error to set up two runners in scoring position, and REECE MALEK reached on a fielding error which allowed both to score. With the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh, MILES FEASTER doubled to right field to plate two runs, and SAM ANGELO hit a sacrifice fly to level the contest at five. Montclair loaded the bases again in the next frame, as ZACH STEARNS doubled to drive in two, and Feaster singled to bring in the final tally of the contest.

SCOUTING WILLIAM PATERSON
The Pioneers enter Friday's contest with a 6-14 mark on the campaign and 1-2 in NJAC play. They opened their 2024 campaign with an 8-7 victory over Nichols College, but fell in their next six contests. William Paterson won their next four, scoring double-digit run totals in three of them. They narrowly fell to #9 Wisconsin-La Crosse and dropped their next four before taking down #19 TCNJ in their NJAC opener. The Lions won the second game of the twinbill to split the opening weekend meeting. William Paterson amassed a 25-15 record during the 2023 season and finished fourth during regular season conference play. They were tabbed fifth in the NJAC Preseason Coaches Poll for this season.

SERIES HISTORY
Montclair and William Paterson have met 208 times dating back to 1934, with the Red Hawks holding a 119-89 lead in the all-time series. Montclair has won seven of the last nine games against the Pioneers and have put up eight or more runs in each of the last five. The two sides met three times during the 2023 season, with the Red Hawks claiming all three with a 30-12.

LAST MEETING
The Red Hawks took down William Paterson 8-5 on Thursday, April 5 with eight unanswered runs. After falling behind 5-0 in the second, Montclair immediately responded with two tallies to cut into the deficit. The Red Hawks loaded the bases in both the seventh and eighth innings and drove in three markers in each to claim their first lead of the contest. EVAN WOOD struck out six over five innings, and the Montclair bullpen allowed just one hit over four frames. MILES FEASTER finished with a game-high three hits and three runs batted in.
